Recently I met one of the students from an engineering institute. When I asked him, what he is into now, he replied that he is trying to get a job for him.
I am sure many of you would have attended campus interviews and few would have got your provisional offers too.
Whether you are a fresher who is looking forward to your campus drive or a lateral who is planning to switch over your organization, my simple suggestion is to look for a CAREER and don’t chase a JOB.
JOB is simply defined a set of tasks expected to be completed by you for which you are paid. When you chase the job, naturally you are just chasing money, and not setting up your career.
If you start chasing money, you will end up in chasing the money only. There is no end for it, and its not going to give you the mental satisfaction. It will be a mere materialistic assignment for you.
When you choose a CAREER it leads you to select the right education and skills you need to obtain to support. It gives you a long term vision for you. Makes you to drive yourself with your head & heart.
You become passionate in what you want to achieve in life. In short JOB is a short term materialistic benefit for any individual, where as a CAREER is a long term passionate mindfulness.
1. First understand yourself. Decide what are your goals in life.
2. Enhance your skills & Competencies based on your requirements.
3. Seek expert’s suggestions and assistance where ever needed.
4. Set a clear vision, mission and the goals for your career.
5. Don’t chase money, chase and enhance your skills, competencies and opportunities.
6. Identify your most passionate domain and role and start your Career with clear professional milestones.
7. Set the right attitude by aligning yourself with the people with positive vibes.
Take a call and move forward to start a long term career for you. I am sure you will not have any regrets in future for the decision you make today….
